At what point does a house become a home?
southwestern Pennsylvania home
While reading a book by soft firelight, on the first cold winter night?

Upon a laugh from a friend, enjoying your conversation after dining?

...or maybe at the end of the day, while retreating to the calm of a bath.

Whenever the realization happens, it is unlikely to be at the same point for everyone in the house.
Moments are shared, but experiences are individualized.
Each person treasures their own unique memories from a given moment.

What matters most to me as an architect, is how a house becomes the backdrop for those moments.
If a house is a place to lay your head at night, then a home is the repository for your memories and dreams.
